Dr Afsana Habib is an experienced Consultant Geriatrician delivering comprehensive, patient-centred care for older adults helping them maintain their independence, optimise their health, and achieve the best possible quality of life through evidence-based, compassionate care.

After completing her medical degree in Bangladesh, Dr Habib undertook specialist training in Geriatric Medicine under the Royal Australasian College of Physicians attaining fellowship in 2018. She also holds a Diploma of Perioperative Medicine. She has over 20 years experience as a doctor working in multiple different settings across Australia and Bangladesh.

Dr Habib’s clinical interests include working closely with patients, families, surgeons, physicians and allied health professionals to develop individualised treatment plans that address complex medical needs while preserving function and independence in the following areas:
-     Perioperative medicine and comprehensive preoperative assessment
-     Cognitive disorders and impairment, including dementia
-     Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders
-     Delirium prevention and management
-     Falls, balance disorders and mobility impairment
-     Osteoporosis and fracture prevention
-     Polypharmacy and medication optimisation

Dr Habib is Co-Director of Physician Training at Fiona Stanley Hospital, where she mentors physician trainees, and is also involved in teaching through Curtin Medical School.
She is known for her warm, collaborative approach and commitment to personalised, multidisciplinary care.
