Dr. Wong is an established and highly regarded physician and geriatrician in Western Australia. She obtained her basic medical degree from the reputable National University of Singapore and proceeded to work at various tertiary hospitals in Singapore and New South Wales. She relocated to Perth in 2005 and underwent her basic and specialist training at multiple hospitals, including Royal Perth, Sir Charles Gairdner, and Fremantle Hospitals. She was conferred a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2011.

Research and Academic Achievements
Dr.Wong embarked on a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the University of Western Australia under the mentorship of Professor Leon Flicker, a recipient of the Honourable Officer of the Order of Australia for contributions to Geriatric Medicine. Her research, conducted using data from the largest longitudinal cohort study in Australia, the Health In Men Study (HIMS), resulted in several high-impact journal publications and the completion of her thesis in 2015. This coincided with the joyful beginning of her motherhood journey in the birth of her firstborn.

  • Orthogeriatric Care: In 2012, Dr. Wong established a specialised Orthogeriatric Unit at Fremantle Hospital, emphasising evidencebased and multidisciplinary care for older adults with orthopaedic conditions.
  • Perioperative Geriatrics: From 2015, she led the development of the inaugural Geriatric Perioperative Service, enhancing surgical outcomes for elderly patients.
  • Telegeriatric Services: In 2017, she played a pivotal role in implementing a Telegeriatric Service via the WA Country Health Service, improving access to geriatric care across MidWest, Goldfields, and Pilbara regions.
  •  Pandemic Response: During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, she was part of the Geriatric Advice Service Taskforce for Residential Care, contributing to the WA Department of Health’s innovative strategies.

Dr. Wong holds the title of Adjunct Associate Professor at Curtin Medical School, reflecting her academic excellence and commitment to training the next generation of healthcare professionals. As an experienced clinician for many years, she has actively chaired and maintained participation in various clinical review, credentialing, specialist training, research and ethics committees.

Dr Wong is now fully dedicated to her private practice. She collaborates with a broad network of specialists including surgeons, oncologists, cardiologists, nephrologists, endocrinologists, and neurologists.
