Patients may be booked into the Headache Clinic in one of the following ways:
Your GP may refer you to our Headache Physician directly
You may have been referred to one of our neurologists and triaged for an appointment in 6 to 12 months. In this case, booking an appointment with our Headache Physician provides earlier access to neurologist directed treatment plans and, if required, escalation to see a neurologist sooner than if you remain on the waitlist.
To book an appointment, please email your referral addressed to one of our Neurologists or Physicians to reception@axonneurology.com.au. Once received, your referral will be triaged for urgency, and our team will contact you by phone or email to arrange an appointment.
What to expect
The initial appointment usually takes 45 to 60 minutes. During this time, our neurologist will conduct a thorough assessment and examination, followed by a discussion of the diagnosis, potential further investigations, and treatment options with you. A detailed letter summarising this information will also be sent to your referring doctor.
Please aim to arrive 15 minutes early to complete the registration process. Please also complete the migraine questionnaire.

Based on this initial evaluation, patients may be referred to our team of highly experienced neurologists for advanced management with a shorter wait time than a direct referral.
